The MR vaccine (Measles-Rubella combined vaccine) is an effective vaccine for the prevention of measles and rubella. As of March 5, 2025, our clinic has around 10 doses in stock. We are accepting vaccinations, so please feel free to consult us if you wish to receive one.

Eligible Recipients for the MR Vaccine
1. Individuals Eligible for Routine Vaccination (Publicly Funded)
The MR vaccine is recommended to be administered twice as part of the routine vaccination program.
(1) First Dose: Infants aged 1 year
- For infants between 12 months and under 24 months old
- First dose of the vaccine
(2) Second Dose: Children in the year before entering elementary school
- For children aged 5 to under 7 years old
- Only children in their final year before entering elementary school are eligible for free routine vaccination.
- After entering elementary school, the vaccination becomes self-paid (¥10,000 including tax).
- Second dose of the vaccine (If the child has not received the first dose, they can receive it at this time.)
2. Individuals Eligible for Voluntary Vaccination (Self-Paid, Recommended for Certain Groups)
(Cost: ¥10,000 including tax)
The following individuals are not covered under routine vaccination but are strongly recommended to receive the vaccine for infection prevention.
(1) Adults who have not been vaccinated or have received only one dose
- Men born between April 2, 1962, and April 1, 1979
- This group has a lower rubella antibody rate and is at higher risk of infection.
- Eligible for free antibody testing and vaccination under the “Rubella Additional Measures (5th Term Routine Vaccination).”
- Individuals with no history of measles or rubella and uncertain vaccination history
- Those who have received only one dose in the past are recommended to receive a second dose
- Particularly important for those born before 1989
(2) Women Planning Pregnancy
- Rubella infection during early pregnancy can cause Congenital Rubella Syndrome (CRS), so vaccination with MR vaccine or rubella-only vaccine is recommended before pregnancy.
- Pregnant women cannot receive the vaccine, so it is important to get an antibody test and vaccination in advance.
(3) Healthcare Workers, Childcare Workers, and Teachers
- These individuals have a high risk of spreading measles or rubella at work.
- Those who have not received two doses are recommended to get an additional dose.
(4) International Travelers
- Those traveling to countries where measles or rubella is prevalent (especially developing countries)
- It is recommended to get an antibody test and consider vaccination before traveling.
3. Important Notes for Pregnant Women and Vaccination
